An actress is fronting a popular television music show after winning a national competition.

Dina Mousawi is presenting the final week of T4's summer show on Channel Four after viewers chose her and fellow contestant Michael Blair from the ten hopefuls.

The 26-year-old Shipley actress has already appeared on the television in a host of household shows including Coronation Street, Dalziel and Pascoe, Cold Feet and King of Bollywood.

Now she could be a regular fixture on the sofa alongside T4 presenters Vernon Kay and June Sarpong if she impresses after a week's live broadcasting.

"I couldn't believe it. I was in shock," said Dina.

"I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who voted for me. My cheeks are actually hurting because I've had a huge smile on my face all day. I am on cloud nine."

She found out she had won the hunt to find a new face for T4 during a live broadcast from Thorpe Park in Surrey.

She was whisked off to Oxford Street, London, with fellow winner Michael and a stylist, for shopping and a haircut.

"It was almost as good as finding out I had won," said Dina, who had been doing temporary office and promotional work to make ends meet.

"We were just told to go and buy whatever we wanted. I loved every minute of it."

The former Salt Grammar School pupil, who now lives in London, grew up in Shipley and trained at Stage 84 in Bradford.

Dina has already hit the airwaves this week fronting live broadcasts with T4 summer show presenters Steve Jones and Miquita Oliver.

She said. "It's my dream job. A lot of my presenting has been with Steve. He is really nice and considerate and has been really helpful. At the end of the first day I was given a massive bunch of flowers." Dina has interviewed up and coming band the Pussycat Dolls and is set to interview Hollyoaks stars Gemma Atkinson, who plays Lisa Hunter, and Marcus Patric, who plays Ben Davies, later this week. ME 4 T4 was launched to find two aspiring presenters to present a week of T4 summer shows with the possibility of becoming part of the show's full-time team. Dina was one of six in the north of England to make it through to the regional round and joined other hopefuls for a day in Blackpool filming with T4.

She joined nine finalists from across the UK with the show in the Caribbean island of St Kitts earlier this month where they were put through their paces in more challenges before viewers voted for their favourite two presenters.
