Steve Oleksewycz announced his return with two clinical finishes as Bradford Park Avenue went goal crazy at Telford.

The action-packed game saw Avenue score six goals, let in three, have a

player sent off and another taken to hospital.

Despite the convincing victory, Avenue manager Gary Brook was not content.

"I was not happy with the performance defensively," he said. "The first goal we gave them was schoolboy stuff and we let them back into the game later on.

"But we showed great spirit. And I am pleased we now have the attackers on the pitch who can do the job and get the goals."

In front of 1,385 - a big crowd in UniBond terms - Avenue got off to the worst possible start, conceding a soft goal in the second minute. Goalkeeper Craig Parry was at fault when he failed to come out for a free-kick sent in by Glen Tolly and the ball somehow ended up in the back of the net.

Things got worse when Liam Brompton was carried off on a stretcher and taken to hospital with a serious knee injury. As he lay injured, Parry pulled off a great point-blank save.

Tom Agus replaced Brompton and within a minute Avenue were on level terms when Oleksewycz, playing his first game of the season after recovering from bruised ribs, latched on to a through ball and calmly slotted the ball over keeper Lewis Solly.

Skipper Dean Jones then silenced the home crowd further when he rose majestically to nod home a Dean Calcutt free-kick.

And before half-time, Avenue were in dreamland when Oleksewycz scored a carbon copy of his first, again chipping the keeper after breaking clear of the Telford defence.

After the break, Telford struck back with a headed goal from Roy Jordan.

But Avenue were playing some neat football and were always threatening in attack. Alex Nesovic restored the two-goal lead when he found himself in the right place to finish off a neatly-worked move.

It got even better when Calcutt nodded in the fifth and then Greg Challender got in on the scoring action with the sixth from close range.

Substitute Richard Tracey, signed hours earlier from Frickley, nearly scored after coming on as substitute when he brought a fine save out of Solly.

But Avenue found themselves down to ten men in the 75th minute when Challender reacted to an incident and was red-carded.

Challender said: "I was disappointed with myself but when someone spits in your face, it's natural to retaliate."

Ten-man Avenue conceded a goal near the end when Davion Hamilton scored.

Now Avenue have the chance to build on their win with a home game against Whitby Town this evening at Horsfall Stadium.
