Embarrassed Cougars boss Gary Moorby would like to have dropped all 17 players from the 46-0 drubbing by Swinton for tomorrow's visit of fifth-placed Hunslet Hawks.

But he has had to settle for making eight changes to the side that went down so limply to the Lions.

"It was our poorest showing of the season," said Moorby.

"I know we've had a tough season but we haven't been on the end of any hidings. We've been there or thereabouts in most of the games but just failed to have that killer punch.

"But against Swinton we were woeful. I was very, very disappointed with the effort. Our completion rate was unbelievable, we were successful on one set in the first half and two in the second. It was infuriating.

"Nobody goes out there to make mistakes and miss tackles but it is about attitude. It is not good enough. I told them there and then there would be changes and I've stuck to my guns. There will be six and seven changes to the 17 without a doubt."

Lewis Taylor, Andrew Jackson, Jordan Ross, Dave Foster and Matti Firth will all be restored the starting 13, while Danny Ekis, Jason Clegg and Daniel Harvey return to the 17.

"The guys who are being left out will probably feel like scapegoats but I don't particularly see it that way.

"It's more that I'm hoping the guys coming in will give us some enthusiasm and lift the side.

"It's probably fair to say that if I could have made 17 changes I would have done."

Moorby will take some encouragement from his side's previous encounter with the Hawks, when they went down 37-28 in a pulsating encounter at South Leeds Stadium.

"I've watched Hunslet a few times and I'm impressed with them," added Moorby.

"I've got a lot of admiration for their coach Roy Sampson. They are in a similar boat to us and they've had a few tough seasons but this year they have clicked.

"They have a definite chance of getting to the Grand Final, so we know we are in for a tough game. But tomorrow is about how we play. We've got to perform."

Huddersfield Giants will be virtually at full strength for their crucial Engage Super League clash with London Broncos at Griffin Park tonight.

The play-off hopefuls, who have drawn level with sixth-placed London after winning their last three matches, have full-back Paul Reilly and Australian centre James Evans back from injury and will give a late fitness test to prop forward Jim Gannon.

Gannon was initially ruled out for four to six weeks after dislocating a thumb against Warrington earlier this month but travelled with the squad to London.

Reilly (rib) and Evans (hamstring) both missed the Giants' 68-16 win over Leigh nine days ago.

Huddersfield, fresh from a two-day training camp at an RAF base near York, are still without skipper Ben Roarty and winger Stuart Donlan.
