The Bulls are hoping to have Great Britain prop Adrian Morley in their line-up in time for next week's visit of Huddersfield.

However, the deal announced by the club yesterday - which would see Morley link up with the Bulls for the final two rounds of Super League and the play-offs - may yet fall apart due to a wrangle over the timing of the former Leeds Rhino prop's departure from Sydney City Roosters.

Morley is set to join the Bulls on a short-term deal similar to that which has seen Andrew Johns link up with Warrington Wolves and Kiwi star Sione Faumuina head to Hull FC.

If the Roosters lose to the Canterbury Bulldogs on Sunday or Canberra lose to Manly tomorrow, the Roosters will fail to qualify for the play-off finals. Should that happen, Roosters officials have given Morley the green light to play out the Super League season with the Bulls ahead of his Great Britain duties in the Gillette Tri-Nations.

However, the picture has been further complicated by a clause in the contract agreed between the two clubs stating that Morley may only join the Bulls when his commitments with the Roosters have been completed. Those commitments are thought to include an appearance at the club's prize-giving that would delay his arrival until shortly before the Bulls' final-round trip to St Helens.

While the clause is thought to be a sticking point with the Bulls, chairman Chris Caisley is delighted with the prospect of Morley adding some bite to the club's title push.

"This is fantastic news for the club," said Caisley. "Adrian is one of the best forwards in the world and having him on board will give us a massive boost going into the play-offs. He is really looking forward to joining the Bulls and feels that coming across at this time of the year will be a great way for him to prepare for the Tri Nations."

Morley said: "My first and main priority is with the Roosters. I want us to make the finals and keep progressing in them. But if that doesn't happen, playing for Bradford would be a great opportunity."

l As predicted, St Helens yesterday announced the signing of Leon Pryce on a three-year contract.

The 23-year-old, who rejected the offer of a new deal at Odsal, joins Jamie Peacock (Leeds), Stuart Reardon (tipped to join Warrington) and Lee Radford (Hull) as those heading for the Odsal exit door this summer.

Saints coach Daniel Ander-son said: "This is a key signing as we believe Leon can develop further to establish himself as one of the best players in Super League."
