Silsden have had to put their FA Cup dream on hold after Trafford learnt from theirvisit to Cougar Park.

There was to be no repeat of the late goal drama that earned Silsden a league point whent he clubs met in the cup - this time they were beaten 3-1 and hopes of a good cup run were dashed.

Silsden began brightly with Longley twice breaking through the Trafford defence. The home side scored their opener after 16 minutes when Hedges tried to clear, but could only push the ball into the path of Eames and Rosser's deflection put it beyond Foulger's reach.

Just before the break Silsden gained alifeline when Hoyle fed Packer on the left and he crossed for Hoyle to head home at the near post.

Trafford's response was swift, they earned a corner in jury time but Foulger managed to clear the danger.

Silsden piled ont he pressure early int he second half and eventually it was Carratt who broke the deadlock with a simple chance after 67 minutes. Late in the game Bromley side-footed home a simple goal.

The Cobbydale side may have lessons to learn, but the gap between the two teams wasn't great. The main differences to date have been that defensive errors are punished at the higher level and too often the front men have been isolated and support must come from midfield more quickly.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Silsden are away at Ramsbottom (1pm) and at home to Bacup on Tuesday (7.45).
