FOOTBALLERS Chris Simpson, Adam Whiteoak and Peter Hanson have made it good Down Under.

In the summer they made a temporary move from the local soccer scene to the Riverside Olympic Soccer Club in Tasmania, and the three lads have really stirred things up.

Riverside Olympic had started the season slowly without Chris, Adam and Peter. They were lying well below half way in the league, but have really taken off since the boys joined the club.

They have played the last seven games - and have not lost a match.

Adam Whiteoak and Chris Simpson have teamed up as a phenomenal strike partnership in the Tasmania Premier Division and have scored 14 goals between them.

With the guile and energy in midfield of Peter Hanson, who has chipped in with three goals, they have transformed the Tasmanian club. They have surged up the league to third place, but just missed out on a place in the play-offs.

All three played for Silsden Juniors from the age of 11 before branching out into open-age football at the age of 16.

Peter was part of last season's successful Silsden team that won promotion in the North West Counties League, while Adam and Chris were playing at Cross Hills in the West Lancs League.

The Australian season has just finished and all three are now on a tour of the mainland before returning to play soccer back at either Silsden or Cross Hills.

During the trip they will be visiting Melbourne where they will meet up with long-time friend, Gavin Baluk, a fourth ex-Silsden Junior who is playing Australian soccer.
