Guiseley crashed to their fourth successive defeat, going down by two wickets at relegation rivals Beckwith-shaw, and now find themselves rock bottom in Division A, seven points from safety with only two games to go.

Defending a total of only 118, Guiseley gave themselves a chance when Andrew Paley (4-50) and Peter Graham (3-29) started to get among the home side's wickets but Paul Thompson (45 not out) helped Beckwithshaw hang on to pick up six invaluable points.

The first of Guiseley's two matches is against Burley, who lifted themselves off the bottom with a thrilling win over Adel.

Despite a six-wicket spell by Shane Etherington, taking his tally to 19 in four games, the visitors set a tough target of 200. The final over was down to Andy Clarkson, who hit a six with four balls to go and three balls later scampered the winning single.

A season's-best spell of six for 50 from Mick Scott, well supported by Chris Shepherd (3-30), dismissed Green Lane for 107 to clinch a vital win for Tong Park. Earlier Danny Groom hit a half-century in Park's 153.

They are now on 39 points, two behind Beckwithshaw and two ahead of Burley, with Guiseley five points further back.

If Bruce Percy sticks to his vow to retire at the end of the season, he has just two more matches to equal the league record of 18 career centuries after notching his 17th in Rawdon's seven-wicket win over Otley.

The veteran, who passed 10,000 career runs earlier in the season, took just 103 balls to hit his unbeaten 102 as Rawdon overhauled Otley's 149 for nine.

An undefeated 76 from Lee Bilborough helped Silsden pick up a point at Divi-sion B champions Pool, who still don't know who will go up with them.

Steeton remain in second but saw their advantage over Collingham cut to just one point after they could only manage two points against Calverley.

With Jake Brown hitting 14 fours and seven sixes in his 132, Calverley romped to 263, and - despite good knocks from Alex Howarth (78), John Akrigg (60) and Jonathan Best (50) - Silsden were left seven runs short of victory. Meanwhile Collingham beat relegated Menston by three wickets to spoil David Lester's final home game before his retirement. Lester has played 27 seasons for Menston, 14 of them as skipper, and scored around 13,000 runs in an outstanding career.

At the other end of the table, Craig Rackham produced a match-winning 121 to give Ilkley a chance of avoiding relegation. His contribution helped Ilkley to 273 and Chris Quaife (4-26) and 17-year-old Andy Rhodes (4-68) restricted the home side to just 153.

That puts Ilkley on 31 points, just one behind Hall Park, who crashed to defeat by 59 runs to Bardsey.

Upper Wharfedale are joint leaders of Division C after victory in a low-scoring match against Bolton Villas, Dave Eggle-ton taking five for 22 for the Dalesmen.
