Police are hunting two men who robbed a woman taxi driver and took her car at knifepoint.

They struck in Keighley, holding the weapon to the woman's throat and demanding cash.

They snatched the takings, bundled her out of her Peugeot taxi and drove off in it.

The victim, Lorraine Wasley, 47, of Sutton near Skipton, was badly shaken by the attack.

A reward for information leading to the robbers' arrest and conviction has been offered by taxi firm boss John Meiehofer.

He said the two Asian men called for the Keighley Taxis cab from Redcliffe Street early on Saturday morning. Mr Meiehofer said the men originally asked for a particular destination in Keighley.

"When they got in they then asked her to change direction a few times and then directed her up the side of Devonshire Park and robbed her of her money.

"One of them produced a knife and held it to her throat. They then threw her out of the taxi and then drove off in it.

"I'm absolutely shocked - it is not good for the community whatsoever.

"We are prepared to offer a reward to anyone who can give information leading to their arrest and conviction."

A Keighley police spokesman said the robbery happened at 12.05am on Saturday after the men got into the cab in Redcliffe Street and asked to go to Mayfield Road.

"When they arrived, the rear seat passenger grabbed the female taxi driver around the neck. She believed he was holding a knife to her throat.

"The second man, in the front passenger seat, demanded she hand over money. They told her to get out of the car and they drove off."

The vehicle was a Peugeot Partner Combi registration number YH04 CZB.

The men are described as Asian both aged between 18 and 25. One was about 5ft 2ins and wearing a long-sleeved white jumper and the other was wearing dark clothes.
