City today followed up their success at keeping Dean Windass by signing veteran frontman Steve Claridge until the end of the season.
The 39-year-old, the third oldest outfield player in England, will not feature against Bournemouth tomorrow but he has been registered in time to join the squad for Monday's trip to Blackpool.
The Bantams will become the 15th club of an extraordinary career for Claridge, which also includes managerial spells with Portsmouth and Millwall.
But his stint in charge at the New Den lasted just 36 days this summer and he was sacked before taking charge of a competitive game following boardroom upheaval.
Claridge, who is eight days younger than Teddy Sheringham, has played the last two games for Gillingham on a non-contract basis. He recently spent a two-day trial at Sheffield Wednesday.
