A row has broken out between musicians and a pub landlady over who pays the bill for a portable loo following this month's GuideFest outdoor rock festival.

Organisers have blasted Guide Inn landlady Gill Penny for not making a charity donation from her bar takings.

Gill responds that she provided a venue and other facilities without charge for the entire weekend.

Landlady and musicians have now refused to pay for the GuideFest's portable toilets, and Gill has instead asked Manorlands to pay the £275 bill.

The Oxenhope hospice has received the £1,314 proceeds of the GuideFest, but played no part in organising the event. Manorlands said it was prepared to cover the cost of the bill if neccessary from the proceeds of the event.

The musicians refused to let Gill attend the official handover of the money to Manorlands this week.

GuideFest has been held for three years running, and was originally organised by Keighley bands Wet Paint and The Culprits.

Both bands have since folded, so this year some of the bands' members formed Noise Pollution Promotions to run the event.

The Guide, between Cullingworth and Keighley, has each year provided a free field next to the pub, and also lays on refreshments.

Noise Pollution spokesman Charles Smallwood said they had originally agreed to pay half the cost of the toilets before hearing their share of the cost had been increased.

Gill countered that the toilets were emptied into the pub's septic tank, meaning she would have to pay extra to have the tank emptied.

She added she had not only provided water and electricity for the toilets, but had to employ extra bar staff over the weekend even though takings were down.

She said: "We make extra money on drinks but I have to pay the wages out of it. We had a third of the people of last year -- we didn't make any money this year.

"I let them have the field and the campsite free, and publicity around Yorkshire. I haven't charged anyone anything. I was left with a huge bill."
