A 34 year-old man collapsed and died while playing five-a-side football with his 13 year-old son.
Paramedics battled to revive Stuart Murgatroyd, who collapsed in the indoor sports hall at Marley, Keighley, at about 6.45pm on Wednesday.
His son Mark saw his father collapse and ran for help.
Staff called an ambulance and then placed Mr Murgatroyd, of Emerald Street, Keighley, in the recovery position and covered him with a blanket.
A Bradford council spokesman said staff sat with him to ensure his airways were free until paramedics arrived within minutes.
They then gave him heart massage before taking him to Airedale Hospital at Steeton, where he was pronounced dead.
Mr Murgatroyd, who also had another son, Lee, aged ten, was playing five-a-side with friends.
It was the first time his son Mark had joined them.
Mr Murgatroyd is understood to have started playing with the group about three months ago.
Bradford coroner's officer Alan Pritchard said a post mortem examination was carried out yesterday.
Mr Murgatroyd died of natural causes. There were no suspicious circumstances.
