Silsden 1 Newcastle Town 3 Silsden showed Newcastle Town too much respect, and gifted them two early goals. That hurdle was just to much despite a spirited second half reply.
The visitors took the lead after only five minutes when Silsden failed to clear a corner leaving Bott to convert a simple chance. Despite keeping on terms with the visitors in mid-field Silsden had little answer to their creativity and fire-power up front.
Bott added his second just before the break and although Martin Bland volleyed home with 10 minutes to go Lennon sealed victory in the dying minutes.
n They drew 3-3 with Atherton Collieries in midweek after going down to another early goal. Martin Bland pulled two back but two second half strikes put Atherton ahead. Longley levelled the scores and Bland saw his 'winner' saved ont he line.
