Superb weather and Cowling's ground in super condition, together with a large crowd and an absorbing game were all the ingredients of this year's final between Cullingworth and Glusburn.

The South Craveners lost three wickets reaching 42 and another at 58. Then Omar Khatab joined Russell Newton, who was returning to the ground he once graced for the hosts, to mount a rescue bid. They put on 57 for the fifth wicket with Newton making 26 before being caught. Khatab followed shortly after for 42.

It was then backs to the wall stuff as Glusburn tried to eke out runs and use up their 45 overs. They could only muster 138 as they were all out in the 37th over. Cullingworth used six bowlers with Chris Welch 2-4 and Steve Welch 2-15 being the pick of them.

With not much to defend, Glusburn needed quick wickets. Unfortunately despite some good bowling that is not what happened. Cullingworth skipper Steve Welch and Adie Powis built a solid platform of 77 for the first wicket. Welch being first out for 23, before the latter went for 44 with the score on 79.

Aussie Matt Pearson joined Ian Holme, and played the major part in their 54-run partnership which took them to the brink of victory. Holme was bowled for 13 by Kev Hird before Pearson stroked the ball to the boundary to take the cup to Roydwood Terrace for the first time.

Hird finished with 2-30 whilst Simon Hagerty bowled well to finish with 1-27 off his 12 overs.

n League Secretary Ann Coe presented the trophies on behalf of Sponsors Dacre Son & Hartley. Umpires Colin Myers and Derek Granger chose joint winners of the Man of the Match trophy. Omar Khatab for his rescue innings, and Adie Powis for his foundation laying performance.
