ARNCLIFFE School has been awarded the Healthy Schools Logo for its focus on an active and healthy life.
Children at the school have not only been encouraged to keep active, but they have also been growing their own vegetables which have been used in school meals. And every pupil eats school meals.
Marrows, corn, beetroot, potatoes, spinach, sprouts and runner beans have all been planted and grown in the school grounds for the first time.
The children tend the vegetable patch themselves in an after- school club run by Jill Beaumont and Elspeth Miller.
The Healthy Schools Logo shows that the school is encouraging a healthy lifestyle through its curriculum.
Picture by Stephen Garnett shows pupils William Hall, Alexander Hornsey, Katie Cowan and Jennie Paul tending the vegetable patch. 29/5/22.
