BRONTE SCHOOL'S girls team raced to victory in the Bradford Schools Cross Country Championships.
Racing against many older athletes Helen Glover led the team home in fifth place followed by Srah Nicholson in 13th, Sarah Milner (19th), and Lisa Hollins (23rd) who performed well in muddy conditions. They took the team prize ahead of Bingley Grammar and Oakbank.
In the Junior Boys' race James Fortune finished third behind two older county runners and Ben Utley came through thefield to finish 10th.
The top eight runners in each section go through to run for Bradford in the West Yorkshire Championship next month.
James Fortune and Helen Glover have already confirmed their places in the competition and Ben Uttley is second reserve.
