A growing Bradford label firm has invested £500,000 setting up a support unit to carry out work for advertising and design agencies.

The Label Makers set up the unit after seeing a rise in orders from the agencies.

"Agencies are playing a more significant role in helping their clients create packaging designs generally and labels in particular. But until now there has not been a dedicated design-oriented label printer these agencies could turn to," said Kevin Lyons, The Label Makers' sales director.

"Our designers will be available to work with an agency's team to come up with initial designs, and our production teams will work out the best way to print the required labels to meet the specific needs of the application."

The company has spent the cash installing a studio and plate-making facility which enables The Label Makers to produce extremely high quality labels in-house.

In addition to introducing a Barco system, The Label Makers also has a full Apple Mac suite for original artwork design and alteration.

"The investment in our facilities has made The Label Makers completely self-sufficient in terms of design, reproduction, plate making and printing," said Mr Lyons.

"The benefits to agencies of this investment is a fast, efficient and highly controlled printing process."
