New Bradford City No 2 Chris Hutchings was able to celebrate his appointment with a win straight away last night as the Reserves beat Wrexham 4-1 at Valley Parade thanks to a sparkling first half performance.
Playing their first match for seven weeks they were 2-0 up after eight minutes with Peter Beagrie having a hand in both goals and led 4-0 after 35 minutes. The second half was an anti-climax as City failed to maintain their first half form but they were good value for their win.
Beagrie supplied the pass for Dutch winger Dennis Sepp to score the first goal after six minutes and Robert Steiner added a second two minutes later, heading home from Beagrie's corner.
Defender Mark Bower put City 3-0 up after 25 minutes when Wrexham failed to clear a corner and Craig Midgley scored the fourth, sidefooting the ball into the net from the edge of the six yard area from Sepp's pass.
Nicky Ward scored Wrexham's consolation goal just before the end.
