Paul Jewell writes: It was not a great performance - not as good as Middlesbrough or Wolves, but we got nothing out of those two games whereas we beat Port Vale.

We lacked confidence and the players looked to be a bit edgy, but full credit to them for coming back from being a goal down. It wasn't pretty, but it was a win. People will say we were a bit fortunate, but these things even themselves out over the season.

Middlesbrough and Wolves and the second half against Oxford were good performances, but they only yielded one point - the 0-0 draw against Oxford. It's the three points that counts and a win is bound to give the players more confidence.

You could tell we were edgy in the last five or ten minutes, but the more wins we get the less nervy we are going to be in this period of the match.

I left Edinho out and put him on the substitutes' bench because he has had a lot games recently. He has been showing a bit of tiredness and his hamstring has been tight. So, I decided to give John McGinlay a full game - he is a good goalscorer.

I was speaking after the Oxford game about players wanting to score goals and they might get hurt doing that. Nigel Pepper who scored our winner wants to score goals and showed it is how it's done. It was a great ball from Robbie Blake and he got his head to it.

Andy Melville got a bang on the head when he scored our first goal, but I am sure his headache will be worth it. You won't score goals if you don't go in where it hurts.
