Bradford City striker Gordon Watson's civil action against Kevin Gray, of Huddersfield Town, will take place on October 19.

The trial, expected to last 10 days, is likely to be heard in Leeds or Sheffield.

A preliminary hearing will be held during the week beginning May 18 to deal with all outstanding pre-trial issues.

Watson has not played since his leg was broken in two places after a tackle by Gray in the fourth minute of the Nationwide Division One match at Valley Parade on February 1 last year.

The 26-year-old striker was making only his third appearance for the Bantams after his £550,000 transfer from Southampton.

A club spokesman said: "Gordon Watson and Bradford City are pleased that the case has now been listed for trial, with a definite date in the relative short term and look forward to the successful resolution of this matter."
