The district's youngest millionaire Louise Hall told today how she won the jackpot - with a ticket hidden in a toilet roll.

The 20-year-old Airedale General Hospital student radiographer from Crossflatts near Bingley was watching football on television when she realised she had won a share in the jackpot.

She became the district's second £1 million winner in a week, following Keighley couple Philip and Susan Bowness whose win was exclusively revealed by the Telegraph & Argus yesterday.

Louise, who studies at Bradford University, described how her father hid the winning ticket in a toilet roll.

"It was my mum who first found out," said Louise, whose mum runs the Ryshworth Club in Crossflatts.

"One of our family friends came to the Ryshworth Club on Wednesday night with a list of the winning numbers, but mum didn't believe him - she made him go across the road and get an official print-out to double check.

"I was so busy watching the football, my mum had to pull me off my chair to get me to listen! I thought she was taking the mickey - I just couldn't believe that I'd won.

"When we got home, my dad hid the ticket, and it's really embarrassing - he unravelled half a toilet roll, put the ticket in, and wrapped it back up again! Then he slept with the toilet roll next to his bed all night."

Louise has played the same lines since the beginning of the National Lottery, spending £10 a week, but she has only ever won £10 twice. She has already planned her first big buy - a bright yellow escort Cabriolet.

She said: "I have wanted this car for ages. I always look at it in the showroom, but now that I can actually afford it, I have found out it has been sold."

Louise, who currently drives a J-registered Ford Fiesta, said: "I have always loved this car and wanted it for ages. I have always looked at it in the showroom, but it has been sold."

Louise who has a sister Caroline, 21, and a brother, David, 25, says she has not yet decided how she is going to treat her family.

She said: "Everything has happened so quickly, I haven't had a chance to think about how I'm going to spend the rest of the money."

She lives with parents June and Leonard Hall and sister Caroline in Canal Road, Crossflatts. Her mother June runs the Ryshworth Club in Bradford Road.

Speaking from the club last night, Mrs Hall said her daughter had taken the day off work and was celebrating at a secret location after visiting Camelot to collect her winnings.

She joined Mr and Mrs Bowness to toast their wins at a joint press conference today at the plush Forte Posthouse Hotel in Brighouse.

Mrs Hall said her daughter, a Leeds United fan, was watching arch rivals Manchester United crash out of the FA Cup at Barnsley on Wednesday evening when the winning lottery numbers flashed up on TV. She matched six numbers, sharing Wednesday's £4.1 million jackpot with three others.
