Premier leaders Oxenhope's slim title hopes were virtually extinguished after they crashed by the odd goal in nine against Skipton Town who they beat in the cup just two weeks back. They took the opportunity to blood several youngsters and looked good for a big win after goals from Paul Sewell and James Bailey in the first 10 minutes. Town had other ideas, scoring either side of the break and then outgunning the locals in the shoot-out. Bailey and David Collier did score but Oxenhope were guilty of some glaring misses.

And defeat for them and victory at LMS for Bulldogs puts the champs level on points at the top - but with five games in hand. Oxenhope could wipe out two of those in tomorrow's four-pointer at the Recreation ground.

Third and fourth place met at Embsay with Haworth coming away with a point after a 2-all draw. Embsay took the lead through a deflection but Matt Gilmartin squared the game, converting a penalty at the second attempt when his initial shot was fumbled. Embsay regained the lead in controversial style when the ball was headed out of the keeper's hand. Never-say-die Haworth deserved their equaliser, again through Gilmartin who executed a superb bicyle kick finish to Steve Bell's cross.

Cononley twice held a two goals lead home to Cowling but finally had to settle for a 3-3 draw. They went two up, both from spot-kicks before Stephen Crooks halved the deficit. Robert Walker struck Cowling's second after the home side had gone 3-1 clear and it took a 30 yards' rocket from Andrew Shaw to ensure a share of the points.

Bradley dented Silsden's title hopes though the Cobbydalers are still best-placed for the crown, three points adrift of Rimington but with two games in hand. A more solid Bradley struck twice in quick succession in the second half through Steve Davis and Matthew Cox. Only in the final 10 minutes did Silsden threaten, using their long-throw exponent to great effect. From one missile launch Ryan Hook headed home. But it was too late to stop them slipping to their first defeat.

Oxenhope Res dispelled lingering relegation doubts with a 4-2 home win over St Pauls. Oxenhope were never behind and can thank goals from Duncan Bairstow (2) and Gary Fawcett - plus an own goal - for their success.

Bronte Wanderers match at West Bradford in division two kicked off late as the Keighley side were delayed by a traffic accident. Despite a blank first half it didn't get better as they conceded three goals without reply. Eastburn took the lead through Steve Newton in their home league cup tie with Embsay Res but the visitors bounced back with three second half goals.

In the big division four game of the day Sutton took the honours against title rivals Horton. In almost their first attack Paul Hitch headed home a free-kick. Horton hit back to equalise within minutes and a penalty miss by Steve Reape and Danny Newton being denied by the woodwork could have been costly. It looked bad when Horton made it 2-1 and Sutton were reduced to 10 men. Yet the locals raised their game and Stephen Hargreaves equalised from a Newton corner. In a frantic finale Pat Page headed Sutton's winner - his first goal for the club. And there was more good news to follow as leaders St Pauls Res slipped up 3-2 at home to Colne CC Res. Philip Richardson got both Lothersdale goals as they lost 5-2 to Grassington Res.

Missed chances cost Keighley a last four spot in the Northern Plant Hire trophy. Simon Blackburn gave them the lead and they dominated Addingham for long periods. A late equaliser carried the game to extra-time and with only two minutes remaining Addingham struck the winner from the spot.
