Royal crashed to Cookson cup quarter-final defeat against opponents from a division lower - and despite having a one-man advantage for all but the opening 20 minutes.

By then Peter Callaghan had put Allerton Fleece ahead. After Nigel Foster rammed home a penalty for 10-man Fleece, it was muck or nettles defence. Only joy for the second division leaders also came from the spot when Gavin Schofield halved the deficit.

Silsden kept their premier title hopes alive with a 4-2 win at Boltmakers. In first division action Baildon New Inn's 11-game winning struck came to an abrupt end against Kings Head who claimed a last-gasp winner to take the game 3-2.

Kings 94 move into contention for the title after scraping home 2-1 against Broadford Plant. Paul Sweeney got both goals after Kings had gone behind. Keighley Juniors Res in their fight to get away from the bottom, emerged 3-0 winners at Maguires. Branch crushed Windhill Con Club 11-2 with four goals for Gavin Caines.

While Royal were on cup duty, Victoria Hotel were turning up the gas in the division two title race. Goals for Bob Morrisroe (2) and Keiran Mulderrig gave them a 3-0 win at Bradford Celtic. Springfield United came from behind to lead Calverley United but finally had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

St Annes Celtic and Crown Celtic also shared six goals. But the Keighley lads won't be happy at letting a 3-1 lead slip. Tom Slammen, Dave Harman and Ben McCormack got their goals. Ring o'Bells slipped to a 3-2 defeat, home to Wilson Transport. Gavin Collins got all five in Woodend Rovers' win over Waggon and Horses in division three. Queens Hall took the battle of the bottom two against Shipley Bells. Prospect 96 and Ravenscliffe Celtic shared the spoils, 1-1.

quarter-final

Bingley White Horse 3 Craven Athletic 6

Horse were on course for district cup revenge, 3-0 up after only 20 minutes through Stuart Wilson (2) and Jamie Gibson.

In that earlier meeting Horse were felled by the odd goal in nine after extra time. So the signs were ominous when Craven pulled a couple back before the break. The visitors took control in the second half, scoring four more times. Mark Robinson's personal haul was four with one each for Steve fenton and Gary Green.

Stanbury Park Rangers 2 Lord Rodney 0

For the first time this season Rodney failed to score. Both sides played better against the wind and Rodney - despite first crack - couldn't find the net. Just when it seemed the half would be goalless the premier side went in front. Rangers had the better of the second half exchanges and scored a second 10 minutes into the half. Mark Holmes was Rodney's man of the match.

Stanbury could be sporting the sleek Gianluca Vialli look this weekend. Tomorrow night the team will be having their heads shaved - some completely - at the Friendly pub. It's all in a good cause - the Airedale scanner appeal.

Silsden Bridge Inn 2

Knowle Arms 1

For the third time in as many matches, a single goal has separated Knowle and their opponents. In a tight first 45 minutes they scored the only goal of the half. Jon Keighley equalised and Adrian Pepper got off the subs' bench to net the winner with his first kick.

Old Swan 3 Robbos 0

Lee Barrett, Steven Ward and Mark Webb scored in a game always controlled by Swan though their Keighley opponents never gave up.

Premier division

New Inn 3 Golden Fleece 0

New Inn repeated their success over the same opposition of a week previous. All three goals came before halftime from Adrian Daces (2) and Robert Blakeley. Fleece came back out in a positive frame but couldn't score - even missing from the spot. Steve Buckley was the winners' man of the match.

Aire Valley SC 1 Phoenix 2

Aire Valley improved on their recent 5-1 drubbing by Phoenix. The visitors scored midway through both halves but had an uncomfortable last 10 minutes when Curtis Hall pulled one back.

First division

Crown 5 Brown Cow

Bingley 3

Cow twice led but could not match the home side's scoring feats in the second half. On target for the winners were Shabir Basher and Kabir Hussain, two each, and Mohammed Sule-man.
