For the first time since the start of the Craven Football League season a full programme of scheduled matches took place, with the last two 100 per cent records in the league falling - Embsay losing 1-0 away to Keighley in the Skipton Building Society Premier Division and Silsden losing their first point of the season in Division One with a 1-1 home draw against St Pauls.

In the Premier Division Embsay returned to third spot after Skipton Bulldogs won their home match against bottom club Skipton Town 5-2. At Oxenhope the home side dropped a point to Cononley in a 1-1 draw and are now only two points ahead of Bulldogs having played five matches more.

Haworth remained in touch with the leaders by defeating relegation-threatened Skipton LMS 2-0, while Colne Cricket Club improved their position with a 4-3 victory over Cowling. Cross Hills and Addingham drew 1-1 which virtually ends Addingham's hopes of the title.

In Division One Rimington took over at the top after defeating Grassington 4-0, while Intake had a 4-1 victory over Carleton to maintain their promotion challenge, and as they have played more matches than the clubs above them Rimington and Silsden will have to rely on them dropping a few points.

Gargrave had an 8-0 victory over Keighley to pull them four points clear of the bottom clubs, all three losing.

In Division Two Haworth defeated second-placed Barrowford 3-1 to go two points clear, while third and fourth-placed Hellifield and West Bradford were involved in a League Cup match which West Bradford won 6-1.

Clitheroe and Barnoldswick United shared the points in a 1-1 draw and Wharfedale Gate collected a very welcome point in a 2-2 draw at Embsay.

Division Three saw an amazing match at Grindleton where at one stage the home side were leading 5-2 against Skipton Bulldogs but eventually lost 7-6 in a match not for the faint-hearted.

Cowling maintained second place with a 2-0 victory over bottom club Earby, and in the League Cup Addingham ended Cononley's 100 per cent record in this competition, defeating them 3-2.

Division Four leaders St Pauls had a very comfortable 7-2 victory over Grassington to move nearer to the title. Second and third teams Sutton and Horton both won away from home to keep the pressure on the leaders, Sutton defeating Colne Cricket Club 6-2 and Horton coming from behind to defeat a lively Hellifield side 3-1. Silsden, waiting for slips by the leaders, had a 1-0 victory over Settle, while Lothersdale rattled in five against luckless Skipton Town, winning 5-1.

So if the weather remains fair over the next few weeks some exciting matches are in prospect with the leading teams in the Premier Division and Division One to meet each other when vital points will be at stake.
