The financial engineering which has taken place to take Keighley Cougars out of administration has understandably caused some confusion and fear. Only those involved in the world of accountancy, investment and high finance can understand the in-depth implications of such moves.

Hami Patel, who now has control of the club, is a businessman with vision. He has put certain controls and plans into place which he says will prevent Cougars ever again being led by one all powerful person or the club lurching from one financial crisis to another.

Cougars is being put on a firm business footing with an eye on the future. He believes the club can be run as a successful business and contribute to the future prosperity and well-being of the town. A large sum of money is already lodged to begin repaying those who supported the club in the past.

But there are those who disagree with the current action, and who are making moves to alter the course being taken.

The last thing the Cougars need at the moment is to be plunged into turmoil.

It is as though the old Cougar has had a litter of cubs. This new family needs nurturing and developing in the early years. The family is surrounded by experts of many kinds, all determined it will have a happy and healthy future. It does not need division.

The key to success is a solid ground partnership and patience. That way it won't be too long before the mighty Cougar roar is in full voice once more.
