A springlike day saw perfect conditions for football with many clubs taking full advantage of the good conditions to enhance their position in the title races. There were many significant matches with pressure beginning to tell on challengers.

Top match in the Skipton Building Society Premier Division was the meeting of Oxenhope Recreation and Keighley. As expected it was a full blooded clash with neither side giving an inch. Keighley conceded a penalty in the first five minutes, converted by David Collier, but fought back well, levelled through Stewart Kinnear and took the lead through Colin Buckley. However, Oxenhope were not going to lie down and hit back hard to level through Duncan Bairstow and on the stroke of half-time regained the lead through James Fisher.

The second half was fast and furious with both sides pressing for goals. Paul Sewell made it 4-2, Joynal Ali pulled it back to 4-3 and only a brilliant save from Duncan Tetley in the last minute denied Keighley a point. This leaves Oxenhope two points clear with three matches to go. Points in the bag could mean a lot at the end of the day, whilst Keighley are not out of the race yet.

Cross Hills continued their recent good form with a good victory over Haworth, virtually ending Haworth's lingering title hopes. No goals in the first half but Haworth were denied on three occasions by brilliant saves from Adam Greenwood in the Cross Hills goal.

In the second half Cross Hills began to get on top and took the lead through Stephen Holden. The introduction of both subs lifted Cross Hills game and both scored to give Cross Hills the points, Robert Kaminski and Ian Matthews obliging. Haworth did get the ball in the net but the effort was disallowed.

In Division One Silsden travelled to Gargrave and came away with a point in a goalless draw. Silsden created the better chances but for once lacked punch up front. The defence was well marshalled by Matthew Bland and Gary Lund, denying Gargrave clear scoring chances and Jamie Broadhead and Michael Jarvis worked hard in midfield.

In Division Two Bronte Wanderers were hosts to title aspirants West Bradford but it was Bronte who took most of the glory in a drawn match. Evenly matched both sides found defences on top. Eventually West Bradford broke the deadlock by scoring only to see Lee Bilborough equalise before half-time.

The second half was much the same, with Bronte playing to their capabilities but not being able to force through the West Bradford defence, something they should have done in the closing moments when West Bradford were reduced to nine men, having two players sent off for fighting each other.

Sutton went two points clear at the top of Division Four with a 9-0 victory over Bradley Reserves improving their goal difference in the process. In the first half Sutton netted three times but ran riot in the second to add a further six. Bradley rarely troubled the Sutton defence and with two home matches left Sutton look well in command to take the title. Sutton's scorers are not to hand.

Silsden Reserves too had a good day finding the net eight times against bottom of the table Skipton Town Reserves. In command from start to finish Silsden scored at regular intervals through Graeme Tinker (2), Martin Bland (2), Craig Walsh (2), Jon Mitchell and Graham Whittaker.

Lothersdale Athletic entertained Settle United and were a goal up after the ten minutes and looked set to run riot but failed to capitalise despite having a corner count of 15-0. The second half saw Dale increase their lead to six before Settle replied with two late goals. Dales scorers are not to hand.
