Robin Luscombe and Wayne Kershaw hit the jackpot inWales last weekend, winning the third round of the national sidecar trials championship from leader Steve Radford and Roger Tuck.

Luscombe again drew and early number and acted as pathfinder through many sections.

"We got 20 points for winning, which puts us level with Robin and Gill Morewood in secondplace and just four points behind Radford so things have started rolling for us," Robin said.

World and British trials champion Dougie Lampkin swept to victory in the opening round of the 1998 British Championship last weekend.

He took last year's title by winning every round and dropped just 18 points on Sunday to finish ahead of Graham Jarvis, Steve Colley and Haworth's Dan Clark. This week they head to South Wales for the second round of the British Championship and the British round of the World Championship is to be held at Hawkstone Park, Shropshire.
