JEFF HALL CUP

(quarter-final)

Phoenix 2

Craven Athletic 2

Phoenix's cup clash lived up to its Match of the Day billing as both teams hammered away at each other for 120 minutes - including extra time - but must try again.

Both keepers had to be on top form as they were in action from the opening whistle.

The first goal came in the 20th minute when Jonal ali scored his 14th goal of the season for Phoenix. Ten minutes later Craven were back on level terms.

After the break play continued to sweep from end to end and this time it was the visitors who scored first, converting from the penalty spot. Adam Ackroyd found the net for Phoenix as they snatched an equaliser just before time.

Neither side could break the deadlock in extra time, although both sides went close.

MIDGLEY TROPHY

Aire Valley SC 6

Bingley White Horse 2

These teams are the Jekyll and Hyde performers of the cup, giving good performances one week and turning in performances which would be better forgotten the next. This time it was Bingley's turn to crumble, though they did have players out through injury.

The home side ran riot in the first half with a nap hand of goals.

Curtis Hall, Allan Barrett, Mark Watson and two for Curtis Hall did the trick for Aire Valley while Jamie Butler pulled on back for the visitors.

For the first 20 minutes of the second half Bingley controlled play and Jamie Gibson reduced his team's arrears in the 50th minute. However, Aire Valley took control again and Mark Watson scored the final goal of the match with six minutes left.

Division One Cup

(semi-final)

Crown 0

Lord Rodney 1

Lord Rodney sprung the surprise of the day. After leaking 16 goals and only finding the net once in their last two games they sprung back into action.

They had been without key players, and once they were back in the team they lifted the team back to its good mid-season form.

Neither team was able to dominate, but it was a 10th minute goal from Ian Smith which put Lord Rodney into the final.
