The two surviving founder members of Keighley Playhouse joined other past and present members at a golden celebration.
Lord Mayor Cllr Tony Cairns and his wife also attended the amateur theatre's 50th anniversary dinner on Saturday. Over 100 people assembled at Keighley Golf Club to hear anecdotes by chief guest Willis Hall. Several plays by Mr Hall and his collaborator Keith Waterhouse have been performed by the Playhouse. Founder member Frederick Pye proposed a toast to the Playhouse. Other guests included founder member Doreen Hillary, the president and chairman of Keighley Amateurs and Bingley Little Theatre representatives. Playhouse president Walter Twigg thanked current members for their support.
