Paul Jewell writes: The pitch wasn't good but I am not making that an excuse - there can be no excuses.

I said to the players that whether I get the job or not next season it doesn't matter. If the players perform like that they won't be here.

Our supporters behind the goal paid good money to see that.

I apologised after the Tranmere game, but I am embarrassed today. That wasn't acceptable.

Although Bury are fighting for their lives, it doesn't matter. The players are getting well paid.

If wages reflected performances they would not get paid after this match. We were going to give the players a couple of days off today and tomorrow, but you have got to deserve your days off and we didn't do that.

The problem is our lads cannot keep up their level of performances. Too many of our players perform one match in six or seven and that is our problem because really good players perform consistently well. We have had injuries, but whoever is given the jersey should give 100 per cent.
