Steeton beat Alwoodley by four wickets away in the Aire-Wharfe Cricket League's Waddilove Cup Second Round on Sunday to book a quarter-final place away to Adel on Sunday, June 21, but Skipton's cup hopes were dashed when they lost by 19 runs away to Ilkley.

In the Birtwhistle Cup Second Round on the same day Addingham 2nds lost by 44 runs away to Guiseley 2nds.

In the Waddilove Cup Steeton won with 131-6 in reply to Alwoodley's 130, Chris Taylor taking six wickets for 53 off 22.2 overs, four maidens, Matthew Pinniger 3-39 off 12, two maidens, and Neil Spragg 1-32 off 10, two maidens, for Steeton.

Top scorer for Alwoodley was C Broughill with 32 and B McCormick hit 31. The side put on 41 for their first wicket and then lost their second on 63, the third on 75 and the fourth 20 runs later. The fifth went down on 96, the sixth and seventh on 107, the eighth on 122 and the ninth on 127.

Steeton made a poor start in their innings, losing their first wicket on two and their second on 11. They then lost the third on 35 and the fourth two runs later, but with Mark Hedges, 40, leading the way the score progressed to 110 when the fifth and sixth wickets went down. There are no Alwoodley bowling figures to hand.

Young's wickets came off 13 overs, three maidens, and Scott's off 16.2, six maidens, and the other Skipton bowling figures were Gareth Lee 6-0-31-2, Andy Roberts 4-2-5-1 and Matt Taylor 5-1-21-1.

In the Birtwhistle Cup Addingham 2nds totalled 90 in reply to Guiseley 2nds' 134-9.

P Clark top scored for the winners with 45 and the Addingham bowling figures were G Barton 22-5-62-4, C Campbell 10-3-28-2 and C D'Arcy 13-4-36-1.

Campbell with 23 and D Leng with 19 headed the Addingham batsmen and the Guiseley bowling figures were J Atkinson 15.1-5-28-6, A Swallow 17-6-24-2, C Thompson 4-0-15-0 and C Cooper 2-0-14-0.

On Saturday Skipton had a winning draw away to Horsforth, Sean Atkinson thumping 135 not out and Steve Young scoring 48 as their side totalled 221-6.

M Zubeer took 3-67 for Horsforth, who scored 140-5, C Chaplin getting 43 not out and G Williams 28. Gareth Lee took 3-44 for Skipton. No further details are to hand.

Steeton lost by seven wickets at home to Rawdon, Andy Smith scoring 37 as the South Craveners totalled 129, Rawdon winning with 132-3.

The home side lost their first wicket for only one and their second and third on 21. The fourth fell four runs later, the fifth on 51, the sixth on 68, the seventh on 83, the eighth on 98 and the ninth on 125.

The visitors' bowling figures were D Murray 19-7-19-5, B Percy 17-6-46-4, D Whittaker 5-0-18-1 and R Atkinson 7-0-35-0.

C Walsh hit 47 and Percy 46 as Rawdon cruised to victory after losing their first wicket on one. The second fell on 84 and the third on 114.

Silsden thrashed Tong Park at home, having them all out for only 37 and winning by seven wickets with 38-3.

The South Craveners' 18-year-old opening bowler Adrian Emmott proved too good for the visitors, his impressive swing bowling being rewarded with four wickets for just nine runs off 11 overs, six of them maidens.

John K Roberts, who picked up his sixth Australian scalp of the season, finished with three wickets for 24 off nine overs, two of them maidens, and Andrew Pullen got the other wicket to have figures of 2.5-0-2-1. Andrew Waggett picked up more fielding points with two blistering run-outs.

Silsden took victory at 4.20pm after 12.3 overs, leaving them to have a very long night in the pub!

The Tong Park bowling figures were R Regent 6-1-23-2 and C Shephard 6.3-1-14-1.

Addingham lost by nine wickets at home to Burley. They scored 146-6 with Andrew Murray getting 62 not out and N Brook taking 3-33 for Burley, who won with 148-1, D Hurd scoring 71 not out and D Brook 42 not out.
