Keighley proved they can still beat anyone in Division Two, taking six points from their victory over Yeadon.

They got off to a fine start, reaching 38 before Steve Mitchell was bowled for 20. Overseas player Quasim Ali found it hard going early in his innings, but Allan Broadley was the second wicket to fall.

With the total on 44-2 Yeadon had an easy victory in their sights, but talented all rounder Steve Reape determined not to let them take control. Ali was dismissed for 11 and wicket keeper Richard Wood followed after adding just three more. The dismissal brought young Asian talent Ahmed Gulsheraz to the wicket and he teamed up with Reape for a 40-run partnership before Gulsharez was run out on 26.

Lee Gordon helped Reape push the score on to 156-8 and after McFarlane failed to trouble the scorer Ghraib Razak stepped in with 11 not out alongise Reape (60no), the Keighley inings ending on 179-7.

Lee Gordon held a superb catch to dismiss Yeadon opener Elvidge without scoring. Tight bowling from McFarlane and Towler kept the home side on the back foot. Khan survived a confident caught behind appeal.

Gulsheraz made a fine run out to finish the match with Yeadon on 70 with bowlers McFarlane and Twolerfinishing with identical figures of 4 for 32 as Keighley wrapped up the points.

n Keighley 2nds continued their impredssive form with a 150-run win over Yeadon.

After losing the toss Keighley were put into bat and openers Ian Tomlinson and Nasser Kamal made a good start, putting on 47 for the first wicket.

Acting captain Alan Birkett also batted well for his 44 and gave support to Kamal as he reached his half century.

Three more wickets fell as another middle-order collapse looked possible, but Craig Ratcliffe continued his rich vein of form, scoring 46 which included several lusty blows. Andy Smith supported Ratcliffe and the two put on 72 runs in the last 13 overs to get Keighley to a commanding score, setting the visitors a target of 223 for victory.

Yeadon started well in their run chase, but as their first wicket fell they were in trouble. Seven wickets fell in the space of just 19 runs to leave Keighley in a commanding position. Mohammed Arshed took five wickets for only 29 runs and Matthew Bottomley took three wickets at the end of the innings to leave Yeadon 70 all out as Keighley took and impressive 152-run victory.

Keighley's form has returned at the right time over the last few matches and they have now climbed back up the table behind the run-a-way leaders Idle nd Bankfoot. This weekend they face a double-header of matches against Great Horton and Hartshead Moor.
