Wibsey put their poor start to the season behind them to register a notable West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division Cup triumph at Huddersfield side Marsden with a last-minute winner from Dave Ward.

Rory Romani gave Wibsey the lead after ten minutes - an advantage they held until first half injury time when Stuart Carroll forced the ball over the line for an equaliser.

Both sides had chances to wrap the game up early in the second half, and with extra time looking probable, Ward struck from close range to send Wibsey into a second round meeting with holders Hemsworth Miners Welfare.

Phoenix also upset the form book by scoring an injury-time winner to put out last season's beaten finalists Storthes Hall.

John Brook gave the Huddersfield side an early lead, which was soon cancelled out when Dale Hoyle netted from close range. Ben McCormack put the Keighley outfit ahead after 60 minutes, a lead they held until five minutes from the end when Ian Tunnicliffe equalised. With extra time looming, Danny Spencer crashed the ball home to give his side a deserved 3-2 victory.

Tyersal were made to struggle by local rivals Campion before emerging narrow winners in a seven-goal thriller at Scotch-man Road.

Andy Sugden and Andy Moulden took advantage of sloppy marking to give Tyersal a 2-0 half-time lead, but Campion hit back early in the second period through an Andy McGregor header. However, Sugden netted his second via the goalkeeper's legs after 60 minutes to restore Tyersal's two-goal advantage.

Substitute Wes Guy put Campion back into the game before Jason Ryan took advantage of Campion's eagerness to find an equaliser, to again put the visitors two ahead.

Campion refused to let their heads drop though, and Jimmy Edwards netted. Tyersal's goal came under pressure, but they returned home 4-3 winners. Golcar United and Brighouse Town shared six goals and will replay on January 2.

Fields will be feeling aggrieved at having to share the points when drawing 2-2 with Ovenden WR in the Mumtaz Premier Division. After dominating for long periods, Fields failed to put away their chances.

Chris Arum gave Fields the lead after only three minutes, netting from close range, but five minutes later Ovenden were awarded a penalty, which Mike Palethorpe tucked away.

Fields made it 2-1 early in the second half, Norman Fry rising to head home, but two minutes later he blasted a penalty over, and was then booked for dissent. Ovenden were awarded a second penalty ten minutes from the end, Andy Hurcombe scoring to deny Fields both points.

Crag Road United travelled to Halifax Irish and were beaten for the second time this season by the Natty Lane outfit. After going down 5-3 back in September, Crag conceded second half goals to Andy Thompson and Rob Rancatore to lose 2-0.

Ventus-Yeadon and Salt OB will have a New Year replay in the Division One Cup first round. Normal time goals from Terry Payne and Rick Worrall for Ventus-Yeadon and strikes from Darren Thornton and Lee Pringle sent the game into extra time. Paul Simpson edged the Old Boys in a 3-2 lead, only for a shot from Keith Turner to be diverted into the net to end the game at 3-3.

Goals from Paul Heggarty and Simon Baker gave Salts a 2-1 edge over Overthorpe. Rawdon OB hit Ardsley Celtic for seven without reply, Steve Harper (2), Mick James (2), Tony Jilks, David Pennett and Andrew Clarke netting against the visitors.

Lee Grice bagged his second of the game in the second minute of extra time to clinch Otley Town's 3-2 victory over Eastmoor. Julian Ryder and Bob Trapps ensured Littletown's 2-0 passage against Dudley Hill Athletic.

Tyersal Reserves, holders of the Division Three Cup, fell at the first hurdle, going down at home after extra time 2-1 to Ventus-Yeadon Reserves. Classy Rawdon hit Salts Reserves for nine without reply, James Bull getting four in the first round replay.
