Ilkley Harriers had two full teams in the Calderdale Way Relay on Sunday. This popular event attracted a strong field with around 100 teams, each comprising 12 runners running in pairs.

Clayton-le-Moors finished first with Pudsey anmd Bramley taking the women's honours.

Both Ilkley teams put in strong performances with the men finishing 21st equalling the club's 19967 perfomance.

This year was the first time that the club had entered a full ladies team and they were rewarded with a high finishing position in the women's event and ahead of quite a few men's teams overall.

The Ilkley men's team was Billy Kerr, Nick Pearce, Mike Baldwin, Mark Iley, Geoff Howard, Graham Pearce, Jason Helmsley, Bob Hamilton, Pete Shields, Ken Souyave, Tony Thornley, Mike Rhodes.

The women's team was Anna Liuba, Rachael Gooch, Bridget Doherty, Shirley Wood, Chris Porritt, Jill Cooke, Helen Johnson, Tracey Ambler, Alison Crane, Janet Souyave, Emma Barclay and Johanne Kerr.

Helen Johnson and Tracey Ambler were a very strong pairing making up a phenomenal 11 places on their leg.
