A Bradford financial advice firm has drawn up plans to expand now that it has moved into new offices in a former textile mill.

The company has gone full circle by starting in a former wool warehouse and moving to a former textile mill.

Manor Financial Management has moved into Woolston House - the former home of the Sir James Hill textile business - from in Russell Street in Little Horton.

Owner Keith Madeley sees the move as making a commitment to Bradford city centre and plans to take on extra staff as the firm grows.

The company is now the biggest tenant in Woolston House and Mr Madeley, the firm's chairman, expects to add two more staff members to the current 18 and more in time.

He said: "Like a lot of professional Bradford firms we had thought about moving out of the city but we discussed the future with David Scougall, who is developing the former textile mill, and decided to commit ourselves to the city centre in the hope that things will take off.

"We also want to develop new areas of business including working with regeneration schemes in the district. We are also aware that the Goitside area, in which Woolston House sits, is in line for regeneration and we want to be part of that."

The firm started with Keith Madeley and business partner Richard Ellis in 1976 and was called Ellis & Co. Between them they had 30 to 40 clients and now have nearly 6,000.

The company started in a former wool warehouse in Hall Lane and three years later moved to Mark Manor when it employed six staff members.

Business grew and in 1988 the firm moved again to its premises in Russell Street from where it has now made its latest move.
