The match was expected to be much closer than that.

Clayton caused a big upset in the Intermediate Cup fourth round with an extra time win at Pudsey Royal. Clayton had gone ahead in the 88th minute only for Martin Knowles to equalise with the last kick of normal time.

Clayton were not to be denied, however and overcame the atrocious conditions to win 3-1 and earn a semi-final date against Fire Brigade who beat Undercliffe 3-1 in the other outstanding quarter-final.

Richard Feeley hit four and Steve Knapton the goal of the game as Station's leaky defence which has now let in 16 goals in the last two games conceded five goals without reply against Eccleshill United.
