Bradford City chairman Geoffrey Richmond has flatly refuted a claim by former boss Chris Kamara that striker Robbie Blake was the subject of a recent £2 million bid from a Premiership club.

The City striker has been in sensational form in recent weeks and is widely being tipped as the hottest prospect outside the Premiership.

Kamara wrote in his weekly column in The Sun that City had refused the bid because "they want to take Robbie into the top flight themselves".

Coventry are believed to be the club involved but Richmond said: "The story is a complete and utter fabrication and there is no truth in it whatsoever."

City have around 500 tickets left on the Kop and just a handful of seats for next Tuesday's crunch clash with Sunderland at Valley Parade.

Richmond is urging fans who want to see the clash between the sides currently lying first and second in the Division One table to buy their tickets as soon as possible.
