Youngsters at Malsis School, Glusburn, have beaten schools across the country for a fundraising trophy.
Pupils at the preparatory school launched swimming events last year to raise money for the National Asthma Campaign and have been told they have won the cup for raising the largest total - £3,234.
Head teacher John Elder said he was delighted.
"We finished just ahead of Manchester Grammar School, which has 1,400 pupils, and the school also came third in the top fundraising group category," he said.
The school is to be presented with the Great British Swim School Cup later in the year. It has also won a sports equipment voucher.
And pupils Dominic Ramsden, Robbie Spencer and John Knox were awarded prizes for being in the first 25 top individual fundraisers.
"Like other schools, we have a number of asthmatics, many of whom took part in the event," said Mr Elder.
To date, the National Asthma Campaign has raised a total of £202,000 for research.
