Bradford-based Hill Hire aims to stay ahead of competitors with a programme of major investment in equipment.

The firm, which hires trucks and lorries, has added another 1,100 trucks and trailers to its fleet - including a new lightweight range offering major benefits to its transport operator clients.

Now, with around 7,000 trucks and trailers based at depots around the UK, Hill Hire says it offers unrivalled choice backed by service and reliability.

The company is pressing ahead with a £2 million vehicle hire site in the West Midlands with cash raised by a shares issue on the Stock Exchange.

The new site brings Hill Hire's total to seven. The others are in Bradford, Manchester, Glasgow, Castle Donnington, Leighton Buzzard and Rainham in Essex.

Hill Hire director Tim Josse said: "We have invested around £30 million so far this year in the latest, most advanced trucks and trailers. This is a major commitment to the transport industry and its future and puts Hills firmly ahead of many of our competitors."

Hill Hire is now established as one of the leading independent truck and trailer hire companies in the UK. "Our growth reflects the demand from transport operators for a quality rental service," said Mr Josse.

With bases on the Euroway Estate, Hill Hire is handy for motorways. "With depots in Scotland, the North West, Midlands and South, we've got the country covered," said Mr Josse.
