The Director of Bradford's Racial Equality Council, Ishtiaq Ahmed has been arrested following an allegation of indecent assault.

Mr Ahmed, 43, was arrested yesterday, and later bailed pending further inquiries.

Mr Ahmed is the information officer for Bradford Council for Mosques and has worked for the REC for about 20 years.

Last year he gave evidence at the Stephen Lawrence inquiry when it came to the city. His post is funded by the Commission for Racial Equality.
