Coach Matthew Elliott refuses to accept that Bradford Bulls will need to grind out a result to reach the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup for the third time in four years.

His side have been forced to curtail their attacking flair in the past fortnight against both Wakefield and Sheffield in atrocious conditions but he believes those tactics won't be enough to see off Warrington in tomorrow's televised cup quarter-final at Odsal.

"The thing about Warrington is that they are prepared to play football in order to win and that is down to their coach Darryl Van de Velde.

"The only way that we are going to beat them tactically is to be prepared to play football ourselves. It is going to be a tactical as well as a physical game."

The Wolves are a tougher proposition this time around with new signings and the return of two key players after serious injury.

"Their stand-off Scott Wilson is a good Aussie acquisition and Simon Gillies typifies their enthusiasm in the pack.

"In addition you have got to remember that Toa Kohe-Love and Jon Roper didn't play many games last season and for Darryl it will be like having two new players on board."

But Elliott's men still go in as firm favourites boosted by what Odsal officials hope, given the improved weather, will be their highest crowd since 14,000 watch-ed the clash with Wigan last June.

"I like to give all due respect to the opposition but I have made a commitment to my players and myself that we concentrate on performing to the best of our ability. If we do everything right then other sides will struggle to contain us.

"I will prepare just as thoroughly for this game as any in the League.

"Having sampled the atmosphere of Wembley I know what it means to the fans and I would love to go back there again and again."

The Bulls give a late test to Steve McNamara who missed last Sunday's win over Sheffield Eagles with a shoulder injury sustained in a training ground accident with back-row colleague Warren Jowitt.

But Brian McDermott seems certain to start after recovering from a bout of sickness.

The powerful prop is anxious to make a big impression.
