Star striker Robbie Blake will be offered a bumper new contract in the summer to keep him at Bradford City for another six years.

Blake, who celebrated his 23rd birthday nine days ago, has been a target for various Premiership clubs but City have convinced him that his future lies at Valley Parade.

Aston Villa manager John Gregory is reported to be willing to pay £3 million for him while Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested.

Blake has scored 14 goals this season and only signed a new four year contract last summer.

Now, City are prepared to offer him another three years plus more money in the summer.

Chairman Geoffrey Richmond said: "Paul Jewell met Robbie on Thursday and told him to forget about the speculation.

"Robbie deserves rewarding for what he has achieved on the field and we want to keep him at Valley Parade.

"The last three matches have probably been his worst three matches of the season.

"It is Paul Jewell's view which I share that the recent speculation has affected him.

"I am sick of seeing him linked with moves to other clubs. I want to put an end to it by insisting categorically that Robbie will remain here.

"Robbie told us that he sees his future at Bradford City and loves the club and everything about it. All he wants to get on doing is playing football."

Tomorrow is the deadline for the first concession on season ticket sales and the Valley Parade ticket office will be open from 10am to 4pm.
