Desperate City fans who have bought tickets for the home sections at Molineux have been warned by police that they will be thrown out of the ground if caught.

City's allocation of 3,000 tickets for Sunday's crunch clash sold out within hours. The game will be watched by thousands of fans back home in Bradford live on Sky TV, but many more supporters are not content to watch the game on the small screen.

Police suspect hundreds of them will be in the home areas at Wolves after failing to secure much-sought after tickets in the away supporters' end.

But West Midlands police, well aware that emotions will be running high for everyone as Wolves need three points to at least be in contention for a play-off place, say they will crack down on City fans who do not abide by the strict segregation policy.

Superintendent Tom Duffin, of West Midlands police, in charge of policing the game, said: "It has been a very exciting season and there's a lot at stake for both sides.

"We will enforce the segregation policy and people who have 'accidentally' got tickets for the wrong end should be warned they will be ejected from the stadium if they are identified. My advice to those people is not to enter the ground, they should return the tickets and get a refund."

He added: "I'd ask people to arrive in plenty of time and comply with the directives of stewards and police during the game. It would be very unwise for people who haven't got tickets to travel to Wolverhampton.

David Pendleton, editor of Bradford's City Gent fanzine, said he expected a few hundred City followers would be seated among Wolves fans. "It's unsurprising that people will go to extremes at this stage of the season," he said.
