LEAGUE and Cup victories keep Steeton as the only Aire-Wharfe team with a 100 per cent record with Aussie Matthew Pinninger already close to 250 runs from just four innings.

But Andrew Smith's side will be cautious about their progress as they made an identical start last season and ended up struggling against relegation.

For now though things look very bright after beating Burley by 26 runs and then removing Addingham from the Waddilove Cup.

Pininger, third in the averages last season, hit an impressive 84 as Burley posted a target of 221 for eight declared.

Jamie Davey was to be unbeaten on 47 but Burley could not find an answer to the fivew wicket spell of Neil Spragg and were bowled out with eight overs left to hand the six points to Steeton.

Against Addingham, on a wicket affected by overnight rain, tight bowling was always going to be a major factor and Steeton started well, taking the first three wickets for just 24 runs.

Opener Robinson did his best to stem the damage with a positive 38 but when he fell, Steeton were rampant and had Addingham back in the pavilion for 96, with all bowlers chipping in with wickets for little cost.

Steeton lost their first wicket with only two on the board but opener Russell Newton hit 41 and Pinniger a crafted 50 not out steered them to a seven wicket triumph.

That brought Andrew Knowles and John Akrigg together for a fourth wicket stand of 135, with Akrigg hitting two sixes and eight fours before being bowled for 68.
