Paul Jewell knows that his Bradford City side must rediscover their goalscoring touch quickly if they are to adapt to life in the Premiership.

The Bantams took encouragement from their second half display in the 2-0 defeat against Arsenal but it still left Jewell's men with just two goals from 360 minutes of top flight football.

City entertain a West Ham side full of confidence tomorrow following their 3-1 victory over Metz which secured a place in the UEFA Cup third round.

And Jewell is calling on his side to rediscover the killer instinct in front of goal which made City the second highest scorers in the First Division last term.

The City boss said: "We have to say we just haven't done enough in attack this season and our lack of goals is a concern. It has been disappointing but I am fully confident we can turn it round.

"We created several chances in the second half at Highbury and should really have taken them. The players seem to be starting to believe in themselves as a Premier League club and I think that will be a big factor in us turning it round.

"We should have grabbed at least a goal in the second half and we know we need to be sharper in front of goal."

Jewell has a number of injury worries with Andy O'Brien and David Wetherall both battling to shake off ankle injuries.

City will again be without Ashley Westwood but with Neil Redfearn battling to be fit and Stuart McCall and Robbie Blake both returning to the side from the bench at Highbury, Jewell has his strongest squad to date to choose from.

The City boss said: "West Ham are a very good side who will be flying after the midweek win.

"They were probably the best team we have played in our history and Martin Keown said after the game that with their best team they would probably beat England. I have to agree."

Meanwhile, chairman Geoffrey Richmond says talks are still on-going with striker Robbie Blake over a new contract despite reports today that his future was in doubt again after turning down a new offer after coming off the transfer list this week.
