Skipton Girls' High School was celebrating record A-level results with 12 students achieving four or more grade As.
Headmistress Diana Chambers, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the results, we've had a really spectacular year with a dramatic upturn on last year's results.
"We've been working very hard with a new tracking and review system. We track all the pupils through every half term to look at their marks in subjects and also things like attendance. They are then reviewed with their tutors every half term so that we can put anything right if they are going off the mark."
She added that this year a total of 12 girls had achieved four or more grade As and the pass rate was almost 100 per cent.
"These are both record figures for the school and we've also had several pupils now being able to go off and do the higher grade courses such as medicine and veterinary science. It's been a good year."
David Birks, deputy head at South Craven School, Cross Hills, said the school had had a terrific year.
"We are delighted with the results achieved by our students in the A, AS and GNVQ results this year," he said.
"The A level pass rate, excluding General Studies, is up by five per cent to 83.3 per cent and especially pleasing is the proportion of A and B grades which has increased by three per cent.
"Seven subjects have a 100 per cent pass rate. At Advanced GNVQ, four students have achieved distinctions."
Among the best A level results at South Craven School was Ellen Shardlow, with four grade As, gaining a place at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
Ermysted's Grammar School headmaster Thomas Ashworth told the Herald the A Level results were much as expected, with many of the pupils gaining the grades they needed for places at university.
"The percentage pass rate is the highest it has been with a 96.6 per cent pass rate this year. That is higher than last year but the same as the year before.
"Overall the results are satisfactory, although we were a tinge disappointed with our English results, but we've put that down to two members of staff being away this year."
He added: "However, two of the boys achieved five A grades and one is going to Oxford and the other to Cambridge. We've also got quite a lot of pupils with four grade As as well."
Giggleswick School chalked up a 48 per cent success rate at A or B grade.
Headmaster Tony Millard said: "I am pleased to note the continuing trend upwards in Giggleswick's results.
"The impact of the new library and information centre, which opens as our millennium project in January 2000 will further reinforce our scholarship and academic achievements.
