SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Gemma Rishworth has been selected for the British Karate team.
Gemma, from Cowling, is a member of the Keighley Karate Club, which meets at the town's Leisure Centre, is to take part in the three-day English International Championships which are to be held in London.
She studied Taekwondo for five years before taking up Shokotan Karate two years ago. She is also plays cricket for Yorkshire women's Under-17's team and enjoys soccer.
Gemma is currently studying catering and hospitality at Craven College and is a former pupil of South Craven School.
