Guiseley AFC manager Bobby Davison has announced that he is staying with the club subject to a couple of matters being ironed out with chairman Phil Rogerson.

Davison said: 'I have had a chat with Phil but he has gone away on holiday now. I have more or less agreed to stay but I have not yet signed a contract.'

One of Davison's first jobs will be to replace goalkeeper Steve Dickinson who has joined Conference side Southport. Another Guiseley player who has left for the Conference is Cokin Hunter who has joined Hednesford.

Davison and his assistant Neil Parsley will be attempting to bring in some new players over the coming weeks with training set to start on July 10.

The Reserve squad will however start training at Guiseley School next Wednesday and anyone interested in joining the reserves should turn up at Guiseley AFC on Wednesday at 7 pm.

Davison said of his quest to find new players: 'We had one or two players in mind at the end of last season but we did not have the money to get them at that stage. We know what we want and in which positions we need to put pressure on people. We are not going to be in the mood for anyone messing us about next season.

Striker Simon Parke is currently in India with the Middlesex Wanderers.
