Yeadon are thwarted by

sun and rain

ON a day when teams were brought off for rain Yeadon ironically lost their chance of victory when sun also stopped play at Saltaire's Roberts Park.

Yeadon took just one point from a drawn game which was reduced to 33 overs a side.

Saltaire made 140 all out as Naeem Khan took 4-51 and John Roper 3-68.

Khan opened the Yeadon innings and made 50 before being run out but he saw partners come and go without them adding any real support and his side was 128-7 when the game ended.

Former Yeadon bowler Robert Hodson - now the Saltaire captain - would have been pleased with his 4-56 off 17 overs which kept Yeadon in check.

Yeadon's lead has been cut to 14 points with six games to play.
