CHRISTIAN TYRER and David Larder appeared before the board of directors this week and appologised for their behaviour in the game against Barrow and accepted their reprimand, the matter is now closed.

I would also like to state, through this column, that at no time have I ever said the situation involving the two players reached 'boiling point' that comment was added by the sports editor to make the incident sound more dramatic than it actually was.

I WAS proud of the effort the team put in last week at Widnes, going in against a team which had won 11 from their last 12 games, with a severly weakened team and picking up further injuries during the game to karl Smith, Jason Ramshaw and Paul Owen, many teams would have folded, but we did not, and indeed finished the stronger of the two.

That performance was testament to the team spirit on the day and was an effort, I am sure, which was appreciated by most fans.

While I'm writing this though I am not sure just what the team is likely to be on Sunday against Leigh. All three players injured last week are unlikely to play, although all three have astounded me earlier this season with their powers of recovery.

One thing I am sure of, the young players who are likely to be drafted into the team will not let anyone down.
