AN Ilkley musician's song helped inspire a dramatic late comeback at the weekend.

In last week's Gazette we revealed how former Smokie star Alan Silson had recorded a song for Premiership new boys Bradford City.

The song, simply titled Bradford City, was played at Valley Parade on Saturday, inspiring City to grab a late late equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

The song has clearly proved a hit inside the ground but is it likely to feature in music collections elsewhere.

Unfortunately, Mr Silson, of Ben Rhydding Drive, was unable to be at the game on Saturday, but their friend Graham Lee, a City season-ticket holder and member of the CD project, reported the song coming loud and clear from the Valley Parade tannoy.

The team's encouraging start to the season appears to be matched by the CD. A member of staff at the Bradford City club shop said there had been a lot of interest from fans.
